The Cultural Manual: The purpose of this manual is to give information to the directors about the culture of dance, what it means and how it is intricately connected with life itself. It should be used as a stepping stone for more research and learning. The Cultural Manual is available throughout the year and one needs to contact Maria Sharp (sharp_maria@yahoo.com)or Michelle Cassimus (youth@atlmetropolis.org). The price is $20 and each addition is $8 as we add them on. The check should be for HDF. The Cultural Manual starts with a Historical background of Dance, General Characteristics of dances from the different regions, music, costumes and ornaments. Each subsequent section deals with a particular area of Greece, e.g., Crete, Epirus and Macedonia. These sections include laographic material: customs, traditions and folklore. Every section is accompanied with bibliography and resources for more information.
