The Panegyri Spiritual and Dance Workshop The fourth annual “PANEGYRI” Spiritual and Dance Workshop sponsored by the Hellenic Dance Festival Committee is just around the corner. It is being held Labor Day weekend, August 29-31, 2008, at the Diakonia Center, in Salem, SC During this weekend, dances from Metsovo will be taught by Joe Kaloyianides Graziosi and dances from Pontos will be taught by Sandy Papadopoulos. There will be a choral workshop conducted by Dr. Michael Rallis, a director’s workshop, a spiritual workshop, as well as a newly developed technology workshop. There will also be a workshop for new participants and directors to the Hellenic Dance Festival program on August 31st as well as a picnic to conclude the weekend offering fellowship, food, and dancing. If unsure about attending the Hellenic Dance Festival and Byzantine Weekend, this will be a great workshop to attend to gain knowledge as to what the program is really about. Whether an established dance troupe or just beginning, the workshop will allow you to gain confidence with your dancing in order to keep your heritage alive.
